The Aradhena Gorge is in the region of Sfakia at the south coast of Crete. It leads from the village of Aradhena 7 km down to the beach of Dialiakari.
To both sides of the gorge are 200 m high rock faces, some coloured red, some yellow, and on the way a spring hidden beneath a boulder.
A roundtrip starting from the village of Loutro via Marmara, then through the gorge up to the village of Loutro back down to Loutro, which will take ca. 6 hours walking time.
One can also take the bus or a taxi from Loutro to Anopolis and start the walk from here to Aradhena down through the Aradhena gorge to Marmara and on to Loutro. From Loutro one can take the boat back to Chora Sfakion.
As in almost all gorges on Crete, the Aradhena is also a retreat for the rare flora and fauna of Crete.
