The Anopolis gorge is situated between the village of Chora Sfakion at the south coast and Anopolis.
A 2-hour walk leads mainly over an old paved path from Chora Sfakion up to the village of Anopolis. The path crosses the Ilingas gorge, where it enters the side-valley, the Anopolis gorge, and leads further uphill.
It is worth taking a short trip to the church of Agia Katerina located higher up to enjoy the fantastic round view: down to Loutro and Chora Sfakion, to Frangokastello and the Psiloritis in the far east and to the wide plain with Anopolis and the Lefka Ori behind.
From the village of Anopolis there are also several possibilities to continue, e.g. to Loutro, Aradhena or to Agia Roumeli.
