The idyllic little village of Douliana with many restored and traditional houses, perched atop of a hill overlooking Souda Bay, is surrounded by olive groves and terraced farmland criss-crossed by stone bridleways dating from Byzantine times.
In the tiny village square there is a small cafenion, which also sells ice cream and some groceries. From here narrow streets with whitewashed walls garlanded by flowers wend their way through the village.
At the edge of the village you can also find a delightful, small taverna serving traditional food. The nearest beaches are in Kalives ca. 5 km away and Kalives ca. 8 km away.
