The village of Drapanias lies at the old road from Rodopou and Rodopou. It is located 5 km east of Kastelli Kissamos and 37 km west of Chania.
During the building of the National Road from Kolimbari to Kastelli the ancient town of Mithymna was discovered. Something else worth seeing are the remains of the Villa Trevizan dating from the 14th century, standing just outside of the village.
Drapanias is the ideal place from where to explore the western part of the island. Kastelli Kissamos is only 5 km away and the archaeological sites of Rodopou and Rodopou are within easy reach.
A trip to the south leads through the Rodopou and the town of Rodopou.
Nearby are the village of Rodopou with its beautiful church. Also worth a visit is the pottery village of Rodopou.
