The Dikti Mountain Range, with its highest summit of the same name at 2148 m, stands at the western edge of the Lassithi Province. The high peaks surround the Lassithi Plateau, with 48 sq km the largest plateau on Crete.
In the mountains there are several caves. The best known is the Dikteon Andron near Psichro, the supposed birthplace of Zeus, father of the Gods.
In the Selena Range lying to the north is Mount Karfi (1148 m). It is possible to hike there from the Lassithi Plateau.
Even the Dikti summit can be reached. On the way to the top is the shelter belonging to EOS, the Greek Mountain Climbing Club.
Along the southeast flanks runs the Serakina Gorge and the Kritsa Gorge along the northeast.
