The gorge stretches along the west slopes of the Pilafi Mountain (1.983 m) in the southwest of the Lefka Ori Range.
It is a tour without difficult ascents through the attractive countryside around Sougia. The 8 km long walk begins ca. 1 km after the village of Agia Irini at a height of 850 m and ends at Sougia on the south coast. The way leads down through thickly wooded areas, is surfaced in places and well developed with resting places and fresh water springs. Unfortunately a fire destroyed a lot of the plant life in 1994. There is also a narrow shepherds' path leading through the green valley of the Ageriniotis Rivier and which has to be crossed several times.
The gorge itself ends in the village of Konstogerako, which was the scene of a tragedy of war in September 1943.
From here the road leads further down to the village of Sougia at the south coast.
