Nochia is a small village just off the old road from Kissamos.
The village has been known since 3000 BC for the production of water jugs (called Laina), which are still made here in the workshops. The pitchers keep the water cool and are stored in niches in the wall. The local people call these niches Lainothestra, from which the jugs get their name.
In the village there are several tavernas and a mini market.
From Nochia the road leads to Kissamos with its highly interesting church of The Archangel Michael.
